Your article reminds me of something Gene Roddenberry said years ago: aliens didn't build the pyramids: people did. Smart, inventive people capable of tremendous achievements. That belief was a cornerstone of the inclusive, hopeful future that he wrote Star Trek to be. At its heart is the belief that every single human being—not just the White ones—is capable of great and inspiring accomplishments.

Also, although not made of stone, "American federalism" and "American democracy" could be worthy inclusions on this list.
